1. As displayed above, your customer visits your online bookstore and browses through your huge selection of software products.
2. In this example we’re going to click on the “115 Prayers For Children” eBook.
3. The customer is presented with the sales letter for the selected eBook, plus an option to add the product to their online shopping cart.
4. Once your customer clicks the “Add To Cart” button, PayPal’s shopping cart pops opens.
The shopping cart and shopping cart options are controlled from inside your PayPal account online at www.paypal.com.
 
In the example above, you can see we have also added the “Greatest Computer Games CD-ROM” and the “Health Articles Kit” eBook to our shopping cart.
5. Your customer can click “Continue Shopping” to go back to your store and add more products, or “Proceed to Checkout” to pay and download their items.
In this example, we’re finished adding products and are clicking the “Proceed to Checkout” button.
6. Your customer is then presented with 2 (two) methods for paying you. Your customer can enter his / her credit card information OR your customer can pay you using funds in their PayPal account.
Skip ahead to # 7 unless you do not see the credit card acceptance screen.
IF YOUR CUSTOMER DOES NOT SEE THE CREDIT CARD SCREEN
PayPal remembers each time you visit their web site. If your customer does not see the screen above, its because they have recently visited PayPal’s web site. Your customer will see the screen below instead.
PayPal assumes because you have been to their web site, you have a PayPal account - and assumes that you would prefer to pay using your PayPal account instead. (see red box below)
To return to the correct screen, simply click the CONTINUE link (as pictured in the red box below) and PayPal will display the credit card acceptance page (pictured above) as long as you have a Business or Premiere account.
7. We’re assuming your customer does not have a PayPal account in this example. After your customer enters their billing and contact information (as pictured above # 6) they will click on the REVIEW ORDER and CONTINUE button.
8. PayPal displays a confirmation of the order. Make any necessary changes here by clicking on the “Change” link. From this screen you can also enter special instructions (such as indicating a free promotional eBook, shipping instructions, etc).
If the information appears correct, click on the “Pay Now” button to finalize your order. The payment button will turn gray while it is processing. Do not touch your computer while this is processing.
9. If payment is successful PayPal will display the receipt as pictured above. This receipt also contains a button that your customer will click to return to your bookstore to download their items they just purchased. The link your customer clicks to return to your store is similar to the one pictured below.
If your customer does not click this link, they will have paid for an item, but will not receive it. As the store owner, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of the order and your customer will also receive a payment confirmation email. The transaction will also appear in your Account Overview when you log into your PayPal account.
10. After payment is successful and your customer clicks the link to return to your store, the customer is then prompted to enter their email address. Your customer enters their email address and click the “Click Here To Download” button.
Once entered, the system will automatically email your customers items to him / her at the email address they entered as a backup method in case he / she has trouble downloading the items purchased. This ensures that your customer receives the product that was purchased.
11. After your customer enters their email address they are taken to the download screen as shown above. This screen displays the digital products your customer ordered and provides instructions for downloading.
As a security precaution your customer is only allowed to download the eBook once; however the eBook is also emailed to the customer to make sure he / she receives the product they ordered. The ebook is only allowed as a one-time download to discourage your customer from making and distributing unauthorized copies of the eBook they purchased.
Your customer simply right-clicks on each of the the blue underlined links and then selects
“SAVE TARGET AS” and chooses where to save the file on his / her computer.
A complimentary link is also displayed on this screen to return the customer to your store after they have downloaded their products.
Your customers cannot click the “Back” button to return to this screen once they click the “Continue Shopping” link, another reason the eBooks are also delivered via email.
DIGITAL VERSES PHYSICAL PRODUCTS
Digital products are displayed with a link your customer can click to download immediately. Physical products, such as CD-ROM titles that must be shipped and delivered via UPS or USPS are indicated as such on this screen. As the store owner you will submit a Drop Shipping Request (click here) to have these items shipped to your customer through our Free Drop Shipping Service.
